Billionaire businessman Mark Cuban told comedian Theo Von he stopped supporting Donald Trump because he felt Trump never made an effort to learn anything.
On the This Past Weekend podcast, where Trump was a guest in August, Cuban explained his support for Vice President Kamala Harris. Cuban and Von agreed that Trump was exciting in 2016 because he wasn’t a politician, and Cuban enthusiastically supported him.
However, Cuban said his subsequent interactions with Trump made him realize No. 45 avoided getting into issue details and had little comprehension of the issues. After criticizing Trump on CNN, Trump messaged him asking, “What happened?” Cuban responded that Trump needed to start learning the issues. Despite his criticism, Cuban said he’d help if Trump won again but hoped he wouldn’t win.
“I’m not a Trump fan at all. I used to be, but then kind of grew out of it,” said Cuban.
In 2022, Alyssa Farah Griffin shared why she believed Trump was unfit for office. Farah Griffin, previously Vice President Mike Pence’s press secretary and the youngest Pentagon press secretary, later served as White House director of strategic communications under Trump. Now a co-host on The View, she represents the conservative perspective.
After roles with Pence and the Department of Defense, she accepted a position in the White House in April 2020. Reflecting on her time there, Farah Griffin acknowledged personal growth but firmly stated she cannot support Trump for office again.
“I’m a conservative Republican. But not to get into policy, my party needs to change,” she told People. “It needs to come into the 21st century. So I want to be part of fixing what the future of the Republican Party should be in casting behind us into the ash heap of history what Donald Trump has done to it.”
